Martin van Engel is adviseur en expert op het gebied van diversiteit, inclusie en stedelijke cultuur. Als medeoprichter van DoDiversity werkt hij aan de aansluiting tussen jongeren en organisaties — een kloof die hij zowel met data als met persoonlijke verhalen zichtbaar maakt. DoDiversity ontwikkelt tools als RapFlections, waarbij hiphop en eigen verhalen dienen als brug naar werk en opleiding. Via we.dodiversity.com verbindt DoDiversity jongeren en werkgevers op basis van wie je bent, niet wat je op papier kunt aantonen. Als lid van de Nederlandse UNESCO Commissie droeg Martin bij aan het rapport On(ver)vangbaar, dat pleit voor erkenning van stedelijke diasporaculturen binnen culturele ecosystemen. Daarnaast is hij actief als commissielid bij Fonds 21, Museum MORE en het DNB Cultuurfonds.
